Who are the SDPS P&C?
The Sutherland Dianella Primary School P&C (SDPS P&C) is a group of dedicated parent volunteers, current SDPS staff and members of the school community.
Our aim is to bring parents, staff, students, and the school community together, with the shared goal of raising funds to purchase and maintain school equipment, facilities, and resources.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and we rely on volunteers to continue to serve the school community.

What does the SDPS P&C do?
The SDPS P&C raises money for the school to buy extra resources, equipment, or facility upgrades (e.g., playground equipment, smartboards, library books).
Fundraising activities include:
- organising school events, such as the P&C Movie Night, P&C Disco and Mother’s/Father’s Day stalls;
- operating the second hand uniform shop to sell donated uniform items;
- selling Sutherland Dianella Primary School school bags;
- running sausage sizzles and bake sales during State and Federal elections;
- conducting the seat auction at the end of year dance concert;
- exclusive school-community only events such as after-hours access to Scitech;
- hosting social events such as quiz nights and barefoot bowls;
- and many more!
Why should I get involved?
Joining the SDPS P&C offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on your child’s school.

- P&C fundraising directly supports school projects, such as new equipment, technology, or facility upgrades.
- You get a voice in shaping the school’s future and in deciding how funds are spent to benefit students.

I’m not able to volunteer on a regular basis, but am happy to help out however and whenever I can. Is that okay?
Absolutely!
Most (if not all) of the members of the P&C are parents, and totally understand that with young children it can be difficult to commit to volunteering on a regular, ongoing basis.
Whether you are able to become a member of the Executive Committee, assist with fundraising and event planning, help sell baked treats or chuck a few snags on a barbie - every contribution directly benefits the school and the school community.
Whether you can commit to volunteering for a whole year or only an hour or two - we’d love to have you on board.
What are the different roles within the P&C?
Roles within the SDPS P&C include:
- President: Acts as the primary link between parents and school administration, chairs meetings, and oversees the executive committee.
- Vice President: Supports the President, acts as a backup chair, and may oversee sub-committees.
- Treasurer: Maintains financial records, manages accounts, prepares financial reports for meetings, and handles audit preparation.
- Secretary: Manages correspondence, prepares agendas, and records meeting minutes.
- Fundraising & Events Coordinator: Organises, plans, and executes events to raise funds for the school.
- Uniform Shop Coordinator: Manages the operations, inventory, and volunteers for the uniform shop.
- General Member: Assists with fundraising and events, votes on and discusses P&C initiatives and resource allocation.
At the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Term 1, all P&C Executive positions (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary) and committee roles are declared vacant, requiring new nominations and elections to take office for the new school year. This process allows for fresh leadership, succession planning, and a call for new volunteers to support the school community.

Amazing! Joining the P&C is a rewarding experience that benefits both you and the school community.
To join, simply fill out the Membership Form here.
Membership fees are $1 per year. Memberships are valid from the close of the Annual General Meeting until the close of the following Annual General Meeting.
The P&C meets twice every term to discuss fundraising and P&C events. Our financial members have voting rights on all P&C matters.
