Did you know that even a mild speech or language delay can have a significant impact on your child's learning to read and write in the early school years? We are very aware of this at Sutherland Dianella Primary School and have formed a partnership with local, experienced Speech Pathologist Liana Gunzburg to screen our Kindergarten and Pre Primary students. If there are any speech or language difficulties, these can be detected early, so your child can then receive the necessary support.
If you receive a permission form for Speech and Language Screening, please complete it and return it to the school office as quickly as possible, so that Liana can begin the screening process. The form asks relevant information regarding your child. A comprehensive report will be provided for each child screened. The SDPS Student Services Team can support parents if a referral to the Child Development Service is required.
